UPSIDE DOWN - INVERSION MASTER CLASS
An Inversion + Arm Balance Experience with Holly Corey
A playful, empowering workshop designed to take the intimidation out of inversions and arm balances and give students the tools, technique, and confidence to explore getting upside down.
This experience is not about being able to do a handstand.
It’s about learning how to build one.
Through intelligent sequencing, strength and mobility work, technique drills, partner work, wall work, and individual guidance, students will explore the foundations of inversions in a supportive and fun environment.
THE EXPERIENCE
90 minutes
We’ll begin with a grounding warm-up and dynamic yoga flow designed specifically to prepare the wrists, shoulders, core, hamstrings and hips for inversion work.
From there, we’ll break down the mechanics of getting upside down — including alignment, weight transfer, core engagement, shoulder stability and, perhaps most importantly, how to fall safely.
Students will work progressively through drills and variations, with options appropriate for different levels.
WHAT WE’LL EXPLORE
• Wrist + shoulder preparation
• Core activation and compression drills
• Building strength for inversions
• Understanding alignment and body positioning
• Overcoming the fear of going upside down
• Safe entrances and exits
• Wall drills and partner spotting
• Crow / Bakasana and arm-balance foundations
• Forearm balance / Pincha Mayurasana
• Headstand foundations and variations
• Handstand preparation and progressions
• Individual coaching and troubleshooting
We’ll finish with a restorative cool-down, breathwork and Savasana to bring the nervous system back down after all that upside-down energy.
WHO IT’S FOR
All levels are welcome.
You do not need to be able to do an inversion to attend — in fact, this workshop is especially valuable for students who have always wanted to try but haven’t known where to begin.
More experienced students will have opportunities to refine technique, work toward greater control and explore more challenging variations.
Everyone works from their own starting point.
THE TAKEAWAY
Students leave with more than a pose.
They’ll understand how inversions actually work, what they personally need to strengthen or open, and specific drills they can continue practicing after the workshop.
The goal isn’t perfection. It’s confidence, curiosity, strength, and discovering what happens when you change your perspective.
